Pay Rate: $30.00 - 35.00/hr DOE

Employment Type: Contract

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional overtime and off-hours support

Location: Newton, NC 28658 (Onsite; occasional travel between Newton and Hickory facilities)

Tekberry is seeking a highly qualified and motivated 3D Print Technician to work onsite with our client, a leading manufacturing company. As a W2 employee, you will have access to health benefits.

Job Responsibilities

• Create, modify, print, and test 3D models and mechanical components using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain 3D printing equipment to support manufacturing operations.
• Prepare 3D models for printing, including slicing, printer setup, and adjustments to improve print quality.
• Inspect and test printed components to ensure they meet technical specifications and functional requirements.
• Design and implement mechanical solutions to improve manufacturing equipment performance and reliability.
• Assist with manufacturing equipment setup, startup, installation, and process improvements.
• Diagnose mechanical and process issues and collaborate with engineering teams to develop effective solutions.
• Support preventive maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, blueprints, and operating procedures.
• Assist with spare parts identification, inventory documentation, and equipment support.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support manufacturing expansion projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and follow established safety and quality procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on experience with 3D modeling, designing, printing, and testing mechanical components.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks for 3D mechanical modeling.
• Experience operating, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and servicing 3D printing equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with 3D printing processes, slicing software, and printer setup.
• Strong CAD design experience.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment installations, startups, or process improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working in a cleanroom or fiber optic manufacturing environment.

Work Environment


This position supports 3D printing, mechanical design, and equipment troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment. Work may involve supporting cleanroom optical ribbon and fiber optic cable production, using mechanical tools, and collaborating with engineering teams on equipment installations and process improvements.
