Senior Medical Director, Clinical Development

Ideal candidates located in San Diego, CA Remote California candidates may be considered - travel required Position Overview Seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide strategic and hands-on leadership for oncology drug development programs, from preclinical development through early-phase clinical trials. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop clinical strategies, oversee study execution, and advance innovative oncology therapies through proof of concept. Key Responsibilities Lead oncology development programs from preclinical stages through Phase I/II clinical trials. Develop and execute clinical development strategies, including study design, patient selection, dosing, endpoints, and biomarker approaches. Provide medical oversight of clinical trials, including safety monitoring, data analysis, and interpretation. Collaborate with Research, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Safety, and other cross-functional teams. Support regulatory submissions, including INDs, and participate in health authority interactions. Evaluate clinical data to guide program decisions, development priorities, and next steps. Build relationships with investigators, external advisors, CROs, and industry partners. Communicate program progress, clinical findings, and recommendations to senior leadership. Mentor clinical development team members and support overall program execution. Qualifications MD or equivalent medical degree required; oncology or hematology specialization preferred. Board certified or eligible required. Significant pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience in oncology clinical development. Strong experience with early-phase oncology trials (Phase I/II), including first-in-human studies. Experience advancing drug candidates from preclinical development into clinical trials. Knowledge of translational medicine, biomarker development, patient selection, and clinical safety. Experience with IND submissions, regulatory strategy, and health authority interactions. Late-stage oncology development experience is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr BioPhase Inc.
