Production Supervisor

SupervisorSummary Under the direction of the Manager, the Supervisor will provide leadership to the team and assist with supervision of employees as needed in different areas.Key Responsibilities:Commit and adhere to Daybreak Foods industry leading Animal Welfare practices and standardsSupervise daily operations of the staffMonitor the completion and accuracy of daily chore sheetsMonitor the environmental controls of the barns and complex throughout the day and implement corrective actions to address concerns foundMonitor equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and keep up with necessary PMsEnsure effective safety practices and procedures are being followedAssist with animal welfare programs and documentation as needed for audit purposesOn call for 24 hour alarm calls and any corrective action needed to resolve themEnsure proper and thorough training is completed for employeesMonitor stakeholder activity during the workday and adjust to optimize efficiencyProvide coaching for employees as neededAssist with providing progressive discipline and corrective action as neededAssist with performing performance evaluationsCollect weekly numbers and create final reports. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience:Preferably an Associate degree in a related field (Ag, Business, etc.) Or 5+ years of experience in poultry industry 3 to 5 years of experience in a poultry production setting preferred 1 to 3 years holding a position of leadership Basic Preventive Maintenance experience preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to read, speak, and write English required Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required Strong organizational and time management skills Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others Ability to hire, train, motivate, and retain a talented workforce Ability to provide effective coaching, mentoring and discipline Ability to plan, execute, and measure results and outcomes Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrate a positive team-oriented attitude Ability and willingness to learn several associated positions Knowledge of effective safety practices General understanding of electrical and mechanical devices with good troubleshooting skills Ability to manage multiple priorities Knowledge of computers including windows based programs and systems Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgroundsPhysical Demands:Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work Environment Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature varies in relation to the outside temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
