Physician -Section Chief -Primary Care

Job Title

The incumbent will be responsible for delivery of primary care to patients enrolled in the GCVHCS. The work assignment may include Primary Care Clinic and/or Women's Health Care. The incumbent will manage scheduled and unscheduled patients in a clinic setting at the medical center.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Directs and supervises clinical activities of the Primary Care physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
• Coordinates clinical and administrative activities in the staff and patient care.
• Devotes up to 50% of time in direct patient care while serving as a role model for peers.
• Responsible for performance improvement activities in the clinic.
• Completes annual proficiency evaluations for Primary Care staff.
• Oversees work performed by Primary Care staff.
• Manages subsection of primary care patients.
• Documents timely in all areas in accordance with department policy.
• Supervises or collaborates with physicians for one or more mid-level providers.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00am-4:30pm
