For more information on Blue Bird's complete product and service portfolio, visit Quality Assurance Inspections Supervisor's main priority is to provide management & supervision over Inspections Team Area Leaders and Inspectors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Supervise and support quality inspection team members implementing continuous improvement activities to achieve Quality goalsAnalyze defect data (DPU/PPM) for internal and external itemsResponsible for FAI data collection and reportingCommunicate rejects to responsible departments, collaborating with and leading the team to identify Root Cause, and implement sustainable Corrective and preventive actionsPerform compliance and critical part inspections, including non-destructive tests where appropriateUtilize appropriate measurement tools to measure components, parts, and assemblies per the applicable Engineering, quality, and manufacturing specificationsResponsible for overseeing quality-specific training for the Quality and Manufacturing teamsSupervise the LPA process within the facilityReview, Update, Maintain, and Create Quality Procedures as needed/annuallyResponsible for the MRB Function and timely dispositionsAssure consistent quality of production by implementing and enforcing automated practice systemsCreate daily, weekly, monthly reports, and 8D ReportsSupport ISO 9001 QMS certification by auditing processes for compliance and best practicesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities for Success:Employee supervisionEmployee training & developmentEffective verbal and written communicationsVisual and dimensional inspectionsManage Quality control documentation for processes, procedures & testingQuality Management Systems (QMS)Production / Manufacturing methodsPF / CP / PFEMA knowledgeExperience in reporting, presentations, RCA, ICA, PCAReading and interpreting engineering drawings and specificationsUse of various measurement equipment (tape measure, micrometers, calipers, depth gauge, radius gage, etc.)Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Basic Education and Experience Required:Associate or bachelor's Degree preferred5+ years of Quality and/or Manufacturing department experience1+ years of leadership/management experiencePreferred Education and Experience Required:Six Sigma knowledge, training, and/or certification preferredWe Value:Ability to anticipate and understand customer needs and provide guidanceExcellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills to handle difficult and sensitive matters.Strong project management skills.
