Assistant Manager - Harlem Shake - New YorkHarlem Shake is looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily restaurant operations at our Harlem location. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Store Manager to lead the team, maintain strong operational standards, and provide an excellent guest experience. This is an active floor-management position that requires someone who can coach employees, solve problems, maintain accountability, and step into any area of the restaurant when needed.Responsibilities:Lead FOH and BOH employees during assigned shiftsSupport the Store Manager with daily restaurant operationsAssign employee stations, breaks, side work, and cleaning responsibilitiesConduct preshift meetings and communicate daily prioritiesMake sure employees complete all assigned opening, closing, and operational checklistsCoach employees and provide clear, respectful feedbackAddress attendance, performance, uniform, and policy concernsDocument employee coaching and corrective-action issues when requiredSupport employee training, cross-training, and developmentMaintain a positive, professional, and accountable workplaceProvide excellent customer service and resolve guest concernsMonitor speed of service, order accuracy, food quality, and presentationMake sure FOH employees provide a warm welcome and goodbye to every guestSupport the kitchen during high-volume periods when neededMonitor restaurant cleanliness throughout the shiftComplete opening and closing proceduresHandle cash, deposits, drawer counts, refunds, voids, discounts, and manager comps accuratelyReview register activity and investigate cash discrepanciesMake sure waste, refunds, voids, and complimentary items are recorded correctlyMonitor labor and make appropriate staffing adjustments based on business volumeAssist with employee schedules and shift coverageMonitor inventory levels and communicate shortagesAssist with receiving, organizing, and rotating deliveriesFollow FIFO and proper food-storage proceduresEnforce food-safety, allergen, sanitation, and NYC Department of Health requirementsComplete required temperature, cleaning, safety, and operational logsMake sure equipment issues, incidents, injuries, and guest complaints are properly documented and reportedFollow and enforce all Harlem Shake policies, recipes, service standards, and operational proceduresPerform other management and restaurant duties as neededQualifications:Previous restaurant supervisory or assistant-management experience is requiredFast-casual, quick-service, or full-service restaurant experience is preferredValid NYC Food Protection Certificate is requiredStrong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsComfortable coaching employees and holding the team accountableAble to remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environmentExperience with POS systems, cash handling, deposits, scheduling, inventory, and labor managementStrong understanding of food safety and sanitation requirementsDependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and professionalAble to work independently while following direction from the Store Manager and senior leadershipMust be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as requiredPhysical Requirements:Able to stand and move throughout the entire shiftAble to work in dining-room and kitchen environmentsAble to bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive tasksAble to safely lift and carry up to 50 poundsAble to work around grills, fryers, heat, steam, and other restaurant equipmentJob Type: Full-time Pay: $20–$24 per hour Schedule: Eight-hour shifts with evening, weekend, and holiday availability as needed Location: Harlem Shake, 100 W. 124th Street, New York, NY 10027 Benefits may include a flexible schedule, paid vacation, and 401(k) eligibility.
