The Luna Firm Inc. is seeking an Immigration Attorney with approximately 1–3 years of immigration law experience to join our team.
We are looking for an attorney with strong legal research and writing skills who is comfortable handling a variety of immigration matters, including removal defense, USCIS filings, humanitarian applications, family-based petitions, asylum, and federal immigration litigation.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school
- Preferred: Active California Bar license in good standing
- Candidates licensed and in good standing in any U.S. state will also be considered
- Approximately 1–3 years of immigration law experience
- Experience with removal proceedings
- Experience preparing and filing USCIS applications and petitions
- Experience with humanitarian immigration applications
- Knowledge of family-based petitions and asylum is required
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Ability to research immigration issues and prepare eligibility briefs, motions, petitions, and supporting legal filings
- Ability to prepare filings before Immigration Court and appellate immigration courts
- Knowledge of electronic filing systems for immigration and federal courts
- Ability to independently manage deadlines, filings, client matters, and court requirements
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Admission to a U.S. Federal District Court for purposes of handling habeas corpus petitions and mandamus actions
- Experience preparing or litigating habeas corpus petitions
- Experience with mandamus actions
- Experience handling Special Immigrant Juvenile matters and related state court proceedings
- Experience with appellate immigration matters
Responsibilities
The attorney’s responsibilities may include:
- Representing clients in immigration removal proceedings
- Preparing USCIS applications, petitions, waivers, and humanitarian filings
- Preparing family-based immigration petitions and asylum applications
- Conducting legal research regarding immigration eligibility and complex case issues
- Drafting legal briefs, motions, declarations, petitions, and supporting memoranda
- Preparing filings before Immigration Court and applicable appellate courts
- Preparing and assisting with federal habeas corpus and mandamus matters
- Handling or assisting with Special Immigrant Juvenile cases in state court
- Electronically filing matters with immigration and federal courts
- Appearing at hearings and court proceedings as required
- Communicating with clients regarding case strategy, requirements, deadlines, and case progress
- Working collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff

Experience: 1–3 years of immigration law experience preferred
Licensure: California preferred; active license in any U.S. state considered
Federal Admission: Preferred
