Facility Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Position Summary A Penske Facility Maintenance Technician will work in a warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from 34% to 95%. Perform all maintenance and preventative maintenance on a variety of media to include but not limited to mobile equipment, plumbing, electrical, dock doors, levelers and related dock equipment, concrete floor repair, painting, carpentry, rack repair and all related facilities maintenance. Work Schedule 1st Shift: Sunday – Wednesday 5:00 am – 1:00 pm Pay Rate $33.00 per hour Additional Benefits Paid Time Off Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401K Associate Referral Program $125 boot allowance after 90 days of employment Major Responsibilities Complete daily equipment rounds and make repairs as required. Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Contact vendors as necessary. Participate in Safety Committee meetings, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees. Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments. Support operations department by providing suggestions and developing solutions as needed. Serve as a point of contact during off‑shift hours for facilities issues. Qualifications 2‑year associate degree or equivalent from a technical school, or 3 years’ experience in an industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal communication in English. Working knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance and repair, including fire systems, chains, bearings, gearboxes, motors, conveyor belts, lifts, and many other areas that require maintenance due to wear. Working knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance and repair, including voltages from 110 v to 480 v 3‑phase, wiring, fuses, relays, and the ability to comprehend electrical schematics. Physical Requirements Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods during scheduled work. Use hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate required tools or controls. Work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms. Work safely in all weather conditions. See and hear adequately to safely navigate an environment with frequent movement of large trucks. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Capable of pushing/pulling truck tires that exceed 100 pounds on a regular basis.
