Contract Personal Trainer – Lionheart Fitness Lionheart Fitness is a private personal training studio in the Italian Village neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio focused on individualized coaching, strength training, and helping clients build long-term results. We’re looking for a dependable, motivated personal trainer to join our team as an independent contractor. You do not need to come in knowing everything. Our owner and head trainer, José, has over 15 years of experience and is willing to mentor the right person, teach the training methods he has developed through years of coaching, and help them grow into a confident, knowledgeable trainer. Trainers are also welcome to use Lionheart Fitness programming and training systems developed by José rather than being expected to create every program completely from scratch. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop as a trainer, learn from an experienced coach, and gradually build a consistent client schedule.

Whether you’re a newer trainer looking for mentorship or an established trainer looking for a professional space to grow your own book of business, we’re open to creating a structure that makes sense for the right person. Responsibilities : Provide one-on-one and small-group personal training sessions Coach clients through safe and effective strength, mobility, and conditioning exercises Follow Lionheart Fitness programming or develop appropriate programming for individual clients Learn and apply Lionheart's training methods and coaching standards Build strong relationships with clients and provide a high level of service Track client progress and help clients stay accountable to their goals Communicate reliably with clients and the Lionheart team Maintain a clean, organized, and professional training environment What We’re Looking For: A strong interest in personal training, strength training, and helping people Personal training certification from a nationally recognized organization CPR/AED certification Previous training or coaching experience is a plus, but we are willing to train and mentor the right candidate Willingness to learn and be coached Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, professional, and punctual Comfortable working independently once trained Someone interested in developing their skills and building a long-term client base Morning, evening, and/or weekend availability is a plus Mentorship & Development One of the biggest benefits of this position is the opportunity to learn directly from Lionheart Fitness owner and head trainer Jose. Jose is willing to work with the right trainer to: Teach his approach to strength training and personal training Share the knowledge and experience he has developed working with clients Help improve coaching technique, exercise selection, and client management Provide access to the programming and systems currently used with Lionheart clients Help the trainer become increasingly independent and confident as their schedule grows We care more about finding someone who is coachable, dependable, good with people, and wants to become an excellent trainer than finding someone who already knows everything.

Compensation & Training Structure

This is an independent contractor position with flexible compensation options based on experience, client volume, and how you prefer to operate.

Lionheart Fitness offers:

Commission split: Train Lionheart clients and earn a percentage of each completed session.

Trainer rent structure: For trainers who have or build their own client base, a rental arrangement may be available instead of a commission split.

Opportunity to transition between structures as your client base grows.

Access to Lionheart Fitness equipment, training space, programming, booking system and coaching systems. Mentorship from owner and head trainer José.
