Job Description

Special Assistant to the Dean of Strategic Initiatives (Boston College, Boston, MA):

Job Duties:

Act as key leader in efforts to advance the Clough School of Theology and Ministry (the CSTM) in

important areas. Specific duties will include:

1. Strengthen the pastoral support, programs, and services integral to the success of all students;

2. Contribute to strategic planning for and execution of global initiatives;

3. Collaborate with the leadership/administrative team that manages the CSTM;

4. Ensure the CSTM’s commitment to the four dimensions of formation (academic, pastoral,

spiritual, and human) to meet the needs of a diverse student body and foster an inclusive

environment of holistic learning;

1. Support the attraction, recruitment, retention, academic, and professional development of all

CSTM student populations;

1. Serve as the primary liaison for the CSTM with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston

(RCAB), and on University-wide programs and initiatives;

1. Serve as member of Lead Team and manage Assistant Program Director for grant program;

2. Work closely with the Dean and Associate Deans on strategic planning, external relations, and as

a bridge between admissions and student affairs, ensuring students have the resources needed for

holistic formation through the student life cycle;

1. Serve as a project manager for existing initiatives related to student formation and success,

ensuring that existing and future initiatives are prioritized;

1. Maintain a portfolio that includes specifically assigned strategic initiatives including the Global

Theological Initiative of the seven English-speaking schools of theology of the Society of Jesus

and other related initiatives in development.

Salary:

$110,573/year.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, higher education, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of

experience in ministry, higher education, or social work.

Experience must include the following, which can be gained concurrently:

2 years of experience applying Jesuit teachings and mission as a teacher or missionary.

2 years of experience performing project management for Jesuit and Catholic educational

programs.

2 years of experience establishing and managing fundraising programs.

2 years of experience developing, monitoring, and enhancing training programs.
