Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical in maintaining an organized, smooth, and safe warehouse operation, contributing to overall success. Candidates have a two-hour lead time on materials needed for the production floor and must meet high production goals each hour.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to move merchandise.
• Maintain organization and safety within the warehouse.
• Meet high production goals each hour with materials needed for the production floor.
• Spend 50% of the day on forklift operations and the rest on walking, cleaning, material handling by hand, and other assigned duties.
• Verify forklift certifications and skills through references.
• Utilize warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
• Balance multiple processes to support system efficiency.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in storage processes and production support.
• Minimum 3 years of forklift operation experience, ideally with stand-up electric forklifts.
• Experience with warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
• Order selection experience and quality control skills.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in packing, inventory control, and shipping and receiving.
• Computer skills for order processing and entry.
• Thorough understanding of quality rules and safety standards.
• No gaps in employment for 1-2 years.

Work Environment

The facility is a very clean, state-of-the-art environment located in Colonial Heights, housing packaging operations, a warehouse, and a training center. The aisles are smaller, requiring careful navigation. The facility is climate-controlled, offering locker rooms with lockers upon request, and a canteen/breakroom with food and drink machines. Cell phones must be kept in lockers or cars, not allowed on the production floor. The company is getting used to contract associates, with a minimum 90-day duration for contracts.

This is a Contract position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
