Anchor Engineering is seeking experienced Structural Engineers and Project Managers (P.E.) to support our expansion into the Phoenix market. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are interested in increased project ownership, technical leadership, client development, and helping establish and grow Anchor Engineering's presence in Arizona.

Depending on experience, qualifications, and leadership abilities, candidates may be considered for roles ranging from Project Engineer through Project Manager . Successful candidates will have opportunities to contribute to technical design, project execution, client relationships, staff development, and local market growth.

As Anchor Engineering expands into the Phoenix market, this position offers a unique opportunity to help shape our local presence. Experienced candidates will have the opportunity to influence project delivery standards, strengthen client relationships, assist with team development, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the Arizona office.

What You’ll Do

• Lead or contribute to the structural design, coordination, and delivery of commercial, industrial, residential, and specialty projects.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and project teams to develop practical and innovative structural solutions.
• Prepare, review, and oversee structural calculations, construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
• Manage or assist with project planning, including scope development, budgets, schedules, staffing, and deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and Anchor Engineering quality expectations.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, and construction-phase services.
• Support proposal preparation, business development efforts, and long-term client relationships.
• Help establish and expand Anchor Engineering's presence in the Phoenix market.

Role Scope (Varies by Experience)

Project Engineer

• Perform structural analysis and design for commercial, industrial, residential, and specialty structures
• Prepare calculations, plans, specifications, and engineering reports
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants
• Conduct site observations and field investigations
• Assist in determining project schedules and budgets
• Monitor scope, budget, and schedule changes and communicate project impacts
• Mentor Design Engineers and Technicians
• Stamp smaller projects and reports as appropriate

Senior Project Engineer

• Independently design and coordinate complete structural projects
• Lead technical project execution with minimal oversight
• Prepare and review comprehensive construction documents
• Research and solve complex engineering challenges
• Manage day-to-day client communication and project coordination
• Assist with proposals and add-service agreements
• Mentor Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and Technicians
• Support business development and client retention efforts
• Stamp projects and reports consistent with experience and licensure

Project Manager

• Lead projects from proposal through construction completion
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and profitability
• Oversee technical quality and project delivery
• Review and approve project deliverables
• Serve as the primary client contact
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Prepare proposals and actively participate in business development efforts
• Mentor engineering staff and support career development
• Assist in growing Anchor Engineering's presence and client base throughout the Phoenix market

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited program
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.) license
• Arizona licensure or ability to obtain through comity
• Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience
• 6+ years preferred for Senior Project Engineer consideration
• 8+ years preferred for Project Manager consideration
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and light-gauge framing systems
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, consultants, and clients
• Interest in helping establish and grow Anchor Engineering's Phoenix operations
• Participation in professional organizations is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $70,000 – $120,000 (based on experience, licensure, and role level)
