Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care for surgical patients, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes through assessment, intervention, and patient education. Collaborates effectively with the surgical team to support patient needs before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough assessments of surgical patients, including pre- and post-operative evaluations, ensuring continuity of care.
• Deliver competent clinical care supporting patient safety, comfort, and recovery in alignment with hospital protocols.
• Document nursing interventions, patient responses, and educational activities accurately and completely in the patient’s chart.
• Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to policies, clinical guidelines, and identifying opportunities for ongoing professional growth.
• Foster a patient-centered environment by responding promptly and courteously to patients, families, and team members while maintaining confidentiality.
• Follow safety protocols including Universal Protocol, patient identification, and proper transfer techniques to prevent errors and injuries.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid RN license with at least 1 year of relevant experience in perioperative or surgical nursing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Provide BLS certification; CNOR certification preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree).
• Show proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and patient education within surgical settings.
