Role Overview: Support, organize, and lead the Vituity HEART Thoracic Donor Organ Transplant Recovery Program, coordinating activities between administration, surgical and medical staff, and quality improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities: Conduct donor heart and lung graft recovery in compliance with policies, laws, and standards such as ISHLT, UNOS, and OPOs; ensure tissue typing and organ procurement; prepare for inspections; promote quality assurance; facilitate staff training; participate in hospital committees; and adhere to safety standards. Qualifications & Skills: Board-certified or eligible Thoracic Surgery physicians with valid medical licenses; minimum of 7 years' experience in Thoracic Transplant Surgery or relevant recent training; documented experience with UNOS-approved transplant programs; responsibility for at least 10-20 thoracic transplants; ongoing education in thoracic transplantation; and familiarity with pre- and post-operative patient care.
