Registered Nurse, CF - Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) - Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)

Job Title

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 17, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.

Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), the incumbent serves as a designated member of the institution's Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), an interdisciplinary team established pursuant to departmental policy. The incumbent RN provides emergent, in-person crisis assessment and intervention services to patients experiencing acute psychiatric distress, including suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, psychosis, severe mood or anxiety symptoms, trauma-related symptoms, and behavioral decompensation, as close to the patient's housing unit as operationally feasible, in collaboration with mental health clinicians, custody supervisory staff, and in consultation with psychiatry.

The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Registered Nurse (RN), CF organizes and provides necessary nursing care in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program requirements in a variety of correctional health care settings. CIT RN, CF, in collaboration with the health care team, ensures the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients and coordinates interdisciplinary communication to promote continuity of care. The CIT RN, CF is responsible for addressing the ongoing health care needs of patients and for promoting the timely, efficient, and appropriate use of health care resources.
