Senior Technical Accountant

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Senior Technical Accountant to fill an opening with a multi-national financial services company that is an established employer of choice based in Metro-Detroit. Requirements of the Senior Technical Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA is required Public Accounting experience is preferred Conceptual knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations and the ability to interpret appropriately 5+ years of public accounting and/or public company experience combined required Benefits of the Senior Technical Accountant Excellent salary including an annual bonus plan Hybrid working arrangements – work life balance Competitive benefits and paid time-off program Tuition Assistance Opportunity for future promotion Responsibilities of the Senior Technical Accountant In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations Strong written and verbal communications skills, including developing excellent presentation skills Ability to work with a diverse group of people, within the Controller’s group and globally in-country – as well as at all levels (subordinates and superiors) Proactively monitor the development of new and emerging US GAAP and SEC accounting guidance including assessing the current and future implications, developing implementation plans and training & communicating with the business units, countries and functional departments that are impacted Participate in the identification, research, and communication of accounting implications in relation to new business transactions and ventures or other non-routine events with the impacted business units, countries or functional departments Prepare technical accounting memos for complex or non-standard transactions, including lease accounting (ASC 842), revenue recognition (ASC 606), financing transactions, impairment reviews, and consolidation assessments Possess continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset Ability to participate in the research and documentation of complex accounting issues Experience with a multinational corporation working with multiple locations, Experience in automotive finance We treat all resumes with strict confidentiality.
