Senior Tax Associate - Birmingham, ALWe are seeking an experienced tax professional with at least 3 years in public accounting who is detail-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator.You will prepare tax returns, conduct technical tax research, support tax consulting engagements, assist with ASC 740 provisions, and help guide junior staff while delivering high-quality client service.This is a full-time position available for immediate hire.Based in our confidential client's Birmingham, Alabama office.This role offers the opportunity to work with a strong client base in manufacturing and distribution while growing your technical tax expertise in a supportive, team-driven environment.You'll join a collaborative team that values accuracy, proactive communication, learning, and shared success.Compensation is competitive and supported by a comprehensive benefits package.Position OverviewThe Senior Tax Associate will manage multiple tax engagements, prepare Federal and state tax filings, perform technical research, support consulting projects, and contribute to staff development and business development efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare Federal and state corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.Perform technical tax research on Federal, state, and international issues.Support consulting engagements including permanent establishment and nexus studies.Assist with ASC 740 corporate tax provisions.Deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality work products.Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations.Prepare clear and concise workpapers and documentation.Delegate effectively and support team members by removing obstacles and providing guidance.Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to staff.Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development initiatives.Required Skills & ExperienceMinimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting.BA/BS in Accounting or Master's in Accounting/Taxation.Excellent English writing, research, and communication skills.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-driven mindset.Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills.Positive, team-oriented attitude.Preferred Skills & ExperienceCPA license or similar certification (preferred, not required).German language skills a plus.Desired Skills & ExperienceExperience in manufacturing and distribution.CCH Axcess Tax experience.Benefits401(k) plan with 3% employer-paid contribution.Medical, paid dental, vision, life, disability, and AD&D insurance.Flexible spending accounts.25 days of PTO for full-time employees.Paid holidays plus an additional post-4/15 holiday.Flexible work arrangements.Paid Day of Service annually.Parking or public transportation reimbursement.Mobile phone reimbursement.Tuition reimbursement and extensive training opportunities.Paid CPA exam days and a monetary CPA exam passing bonus.If you're interested in learning more about this opportunity or would like to discuss your qualifications, please apply now.
