Lead Controls Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Controls Engineer - Technical Lead for a leading industrial automation and process controls organization. This individual will act as the senior technical leader for Water/Wastewater automation projects, overseeing the design, programming, implementation, and commissioning of complex control systems. The role will focus heavily on PLC programming, SCADA and HMI development, OT network design, control panel engineering, and overall project technical execution. This person will serve as a mentor and technical resource for engineering teams while interfacing directly with customers to solve complex operational challenges. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in industrial automation, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to lead projects from concept through startup and commissioning. Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:
8+ years of experience in Automation, Instrumentation & Controls
Strong experience in Water/Wastewater process automation projects
Expertise programming PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Modicon, Emerson Control Wave, etc.)
Expertise with HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware, VTScada, Maple, etc.)
Experience designing automation control systems, PLC panels, SCADA systems, and OT networks
Experience with process instrumentation (flow, pressure, and level transmitters)
Provide technical leadership and engineering guidance across multiple automation projects
