SLP - AAC Specialist PRN

AIS is looking for PRN SLP AAC specialists to join our team of independent contractors! We are looking for an experienced SLP with specialized AAC experience to offer evaluations, consultations, and trainings on a PRN basis for needs in school-based settings in districts. We have needs in multiple states including Virginia and Georgia. The SLP/AAC specialist functions as a member on a student’s educational team to provide comprehensive assessment of Assistive Technology needs in pre-school and school age children. The Specialist assists in the development of IEPs and implementation of Assistive Technology Services. The candidate must possess a working knowledge of assessment and instructional practices, evidence-based research, recommended best practices, technologies available for low- and high-tech AT, and expected roles and responsibilities of an AT specialist within a school environment along with specialized training in AAC. Qualifications: The ideal candidate would be a Speech-Language Pathologist with at least 3 years of AAC experience including experience with evaluations and collaboration with school-based teams. Candidates with Assistive Technology Professional certification are preferred. The ideal independent contractor candidate will have: Considerable knowledge of special education regulations, policies, and procedures Considerable knowledge and at least 3 years of experience conducting AAC assessments and providing AAC/AT services Experience conducting AT/AAC assessments and writing AT/AAC reports and recommendations Experience providing professional development to teachers and service providers relating to educational Assistive Technology Excellent human relations, interpersonal communications, conflict resolution, organizational and planning skills are required.
