If you're energized by building what's next, we'd love to meet you.About You:The Senior Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting Hippo’s Business Enablement & Insights function, with a primary focus on Sales, Marketing, and growth analytics.This role will support new product launches, market expansion, and ongoing growth initiatives by building a clear view of performance across the full customer funnel, from marketing spend and leads through quotes, binds, premium, and ongoing customer performance. The analyst will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Data Science, and Data Engineering to understand what is driving performance, identify issues and opportunities, and provide the analysis needed to make informed business decisions.This role goes beyond reporting. The analyst will be expected to connect data across multiple sources, diagnose performance changes, support forecasting and experimentation, and translate findings into clear recommendations for the business.As part of a centralized analytics team, this individual will also help improve the underlying data, metrics, and analytical processes needed to support growth initiatives and the broader Sales & Marketing organization.You have a bias for action and enjoy taking analytical questions from problem definition through recommendationYou have experience supporting growth, marketing, sales, product, or other customer-facing analyticsYou are comfortable working across the full funnel and understanding how marketing activity translates into customers and business resultsYou go beyond reporting metrics and focus on understanding why performance changed and what the business should do about itYou are comfortable working with imperfect or evolving data and can help identify and resolve data quality and measurement gapsYou are curious, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying trends, risks, and opportunitiesYou can take complex analysis and communicate it clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersYou thrive in a cross-functional environment and are comfortable working with evolving prioritiesWhat You’ll Do:Build and maintain reliable views of the customer funnel across marketing spend, leads, quotes, applications, binds, premium, and conversionAnalyze funnel performance to identify where customers are dropping out and determine whether changes are driven by lead quality, channel mix, pricing, sales activity, customer experience, or other factorsAnalyze marketing channel performance across metrics such as CPL, CAC, CPB, conversion, lead quality, and premium to help inform investment decisionsSupport customer and market segmentation by analyzing customer, home, geographic, channel, and conversion characteristicsPartner with Marketing and Data Science on experimentation, including defining hypotheses, success metrics, guardrails, sample-size requirements, and post-test analysisSupport forecasting and AOP planning through scenario modeling across marketing spend, conversion, CAC, premium, capacity, and market expansion assumptionsDevelop state- and market-level performance analysis to support launch sequencing and measure performance as new products or initiatives expandMonitor performance after launch and proactively identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunitiesPartner with Data Engineering and other teams to improve attribution, tracking, data quality, and integration across systems such as Salesforce, marketing platforms, product analytics, and policy dataHelp transition recurring manual analyses into scalable datasets, dashboards, and monitoring processesDevelop executive-ready insights and recommendations that clearly explain what happened, why it happened, and what action should be takenProvide analytical support across the broader Sales & Marketing portfolio as priorities evolveMust Haves:3–5 years of experience in business analytics, growth analytics, marketing analytics, strategy, or a related fieldStrong SQL, Excel, and data visualization skills; Tableau experience preferredExperience analyzing customer or marketing funnels, conversion performance, customer acquisition, or related growth metricsExperience working with multiple data sources and identifying data quality, attribution, or measurement issuesStrong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to move from a performance trend to root-cause analysis and recommendationExperience with forecasting, scenario modeling, or business planningAbility to translate complex analysis into clear and actionable insights for senior stakeholdersStrong communication and cross-functional partnership skillsA proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of ambiguous analytical problemsComfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving prioritiesNice to Have:Experience in insurance, insurtech, financial services, or another highly regulated industryExperience with marketing attribution, digital marketing analytics, or experimentationFamiliarity with customer segmentation, LTV, retention, or predictive modeling conceptsExperience supporting a new product launch or geographic expansionBenefits and PerksHippo treats its team members with the same level of dedication and care as we do our customers, which is why we’re fortunate to provide all of our Hippos with:Healthy Hippos Benefits - Multiple medical plan options, 100% covered dental and vision for you and your family, and a wellness program that rewards healthy habits.
