Job Title: Dishwasher and General UtilityCompany: Shamin HotelsOrganizational Structure:Department: Food and BeverageReports To: Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen ManagerSupervision: nonePay Structure: Paid Bi-weeklyPosition Overview:The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other kitchen equipment. This position also ensures the dishwashing area, stocking areas, and general kitchen is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.Essential Job Functions:Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areasLoad and unload dishwashing machinesWash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriatelySet up workstations before meal prep beginsEnsure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hoursMaintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessaryCheck washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issuesRemove garbage regularlySanitize the kitchen area, including the floorMaintain a safe and clean work environment at all timesFlexibility to work various schedules as business demands including nights, weekends and holidays.Top Requirements:Team Up: Be Golden, Collaborate and Help Others Succeed.Own It: Be a role model, Embrace Responsibility and Keep Learning.Passionately Serve: Be Positive, Care Deeply and Create Memories.Qualifications:High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred..Speed, accuracy and consistencyCustomer Service Skills required.Prioritization and time management skills required.Must have a strong attention to detailPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, wash, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipmentAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly (dish racks, trash bins, supplies)Repetitive motions including bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shiftAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-temperature, and humid environmentExposure to cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents; must be able to handle safelyAbility to tolerate frequent exposure to water, steam, and varying kitchen temperaturesVisual ability to identify cleanliness and maintain sanitation standardsAbility to safely operate dishwashing equipment and kitchen toolsManual dexterity and coordination to perform repetitive cleaning tasks efficientlyAbility to maintain stamina and energy during peak service periodsWho are we looking for?Are you someone who values teamwork, takes ownership of your role, and is passionate about serving our guests with warmth and hospitality?
