Technical Manager – Civil PlatformsThe "Technical Manager – Civil Platforms" will lead a team in the Civil Platforms (CP) engineering organization, supporting the business and Application Engineering teams in defining a strategy for growth, driving initiatives to continuously improve performance and processes, executing successfully on projects to bring value for the company and our customers, and achieving key functional, business, and broad company objectives. This is a People Leader role for a team of roughly 6-10 Systems Engineers (SEs) that will require a talented individual to use their experience, knowledge, influence, and initiative to set strategy, manage team competency development, and drive engineering execution excellence. The position spans Civil Platforms products and projects and includes interfaces with numerous outside organizations. The role will report directly to the Civil Platforms Engineering Leader with moderate autonomy and require high levels of operational judgment.More specifically, the individual will:hold responsibility for delivering engineering excellence to effectively perform bids and proposals, manage projects, execute development strategies, and conduct accurate engineering forecasts for Civil Platform Productssupport and conduct strategic resource planning, then build an inclusive, highly technical, and high-performing team through recruitment and competency development, guide them through hard times, and celebrate their successesmanage department sub-section to achieve functional, business, and broad company objectives including engineering planning and budgeting, competency development, culture development, process improvement and execution excellencecreate and execute structured development plans customized for individual team members, including holding the team university or collegeMinimum of 8 years of systems technical and project leadership experience in a highly technical engineering field, preferably avionics systemsAbility to travel up to 10%This position is $130,000.00 - $173,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
