CNA/Ward Clerk

Position Overview

The CNA/Ward Clerk will provide essential support within a medical-surgical unit, with potential rotation to the emergency room (ER). This role includes both nursing assistant duties and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist nursing staff with patient care in the medical-surgical unit.
Perform administrative duties as a ward clerk, including managing patient records and facilitating communication among healthcare team members.
Support a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient care and attention to detail.

Shift Information

This position requires a commitment to 12-hour shifts, which may include a mix of day and night schedules. Typical shifts are from 0545 to 1815 or 1745 to 0615, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Unit and Staffing Details

The medical-surgical unit comprises 14 beds, while the ER consists of 6 beds. Staffing typically includes two CNAs per shift, ensuring focused patient care.

Qualifications

Must possess a current CNA certification from the Minnesota Nurse Aide Registry.
Current AHA BLS certification is required.
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
Completion of a medical terminology course or equivalent is required.
