Civil Design Engineer

ERG is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of facility and infrastructure projects. This position will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to develop design solutions that meet project requirements and applicable codes while supporting projects from initial assessment and design through construction and completion. This will be a full-time position without a set office location; however, candidates must be in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area to attend frequent (at least weekly) on-site client and team meetings. The position will include interaction and support from ERG personnel in various locations, including Arlington, VA, and Indian Head, MD. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA. Job Description: Support the planning, design, and engineering of facility and site improvement projectsDevelop and review civil engineering plans, specifications, calculations, and technical documentsAssist with the design of site layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, paving, and other civil infrastructurePrepare engineering calculations, cost estimates, technical reports, and design documentationReview contractor submittals, design documents, and construction plans for compliance with project requirementsAssist with evaluating existing facilities and developing recommendations for repairs, renovations, upgrades, and modernization Required Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil EngineeringExperience developing or reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reportsFamiliarity with civil/site design principles, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site developmentExperience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3DStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignmentsMinimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required) for candidates with less than 2 years of professional experienceMust currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations Preferred Qualifications and Skills:2+ years of civil engineering experience in facility, site, infrastructure, or building-related projectsExperience supporting federal, military, or DoD facility projectsProfessional Engineer (PE) licensureExperience with federal design standards, UFCs, UFGS, or other DoD criteria ERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
