Travel Nurse RN - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - $1,913 per week in Alexandria, LA

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified PICU RN in Alexandria, Louisiana, 71301!

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a 6-bed PICU with patient ratios of 1:1-2
Perform and assist with procedures including spinal taps, titration of critical drips (sedation, vasoactive, paralytic), sedated MRI, EKG/EEG/telemetry monitoring, port access and discontinuation, and intubation/extubation
Operate specialized equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Bair Hugger, Kangaroo Feeding Pump, Giraffe infant warmer, ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow O2
Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication management system
May float to NICU (low acuity), Nursery, or OB/GYN if qualified
Maintain

required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS

throughout the duration of the assignment
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in Louisiana or compact state eligibility
Minimum 1 year of Pediatric ICU nursing experience required; candidates without this experience will not be considered
Active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior PICU and/or NICU experience
Experience in women's health areas such as labor and delivery or OB/GYN
Familiarity with Meditech EMR and Pyxis systems
