Electromechanical Technician

EHC is looking for an Electromechanical Technician for a Client in Woodville, TX Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Candidates must be willing to commute to the Woodville-area pellet manufacturing facility or be open to relocation. One position may be assigned to a separate facility in the Port Arthur area. Must be available to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. Job Summary The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving both mechanical and electrical systems within a pellet manufacturing environment. This role combines traditional industrial maintenance and millwright responsibilities with industrial electrical maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve overall plant performance. The position requires advanced troubleshooting of motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), sensors, electrical components, and automated equipment, while also performing mechanical repairs and maintenance. Key Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain industrial mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pellet mills, hammermills, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, fans, blowers, rotary valves, drag conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, and other production equipment. Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems up to 480 volts in accordance with established safety procedures. Diagnose and repair 24-volt electrical circuits, 4-20 mA control circuits, sensors, and thermocouples using appropriate testing equipment such as voltmeters, meggers, and clamp meters. Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, motor starters, overloads, relays, contactors, MCCs, and VFDs. Install, align, and replace motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, sprockets, chains, belts, and related power transmission components. Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, pumps, compressors, regulators, and associated controls. Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications. Utilize precision measurement and diagnostic tools to identify equipment failures and performance issues. Assist with troubleshooting automated equipment, sensors, proximity switches, photo eyes, level controls, and industrial instrumentation. Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup activities, and capital improvement projects. Complete work orders, preventive maintenance inspections, and maintenance records accurately within a CMMS. Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency. Participate in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Support planned outages, scheduled shutdowns, emergency repairs, and after-hours maintenance as needed. Follow all applicable safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, and fall protection requirements. Communicate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams regarding equipment status and repair progress. Mentor and assist less experienced maintenance personnel while promoting safe work practices and quality workmanship. Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environment. Proven experience troubleshooting both mechanical and industrial electrical systems. Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, motor controls, VFDs, MCCs, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and industrial power transmission equipment. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, and other maintenance equipment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS software is preferred. Work Environment Work is performed in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, heat, moving machinery, and changing weather conditions. The role requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in elevated or confined spaces.
