About the Role SonderMind is seeking a Director, Payor Strategy & Integrations to serve as a principal architect of our enterprise growth. This is a high‑visibility leadership role designed for an experienced Payor Strategist who understands that the future of mental health lies at the intersection of data‑driven outcomes, ecosystem integration, and sustainable payor economics. Reporting directly to the Head of Payor Strategy and Partnerships, you and your team will serve as the primary bridge between SonderMind’s clinical innovation and our most critical national and regional payor partners. You aren't just selling a platform; you are designing the integration roadmaps that allow payors to solve their most complex challenges. What you’ll do Architect Payor Integration Strategy: Lead and mentor a high‑performing team to design and execute a comprehensive integration strategy for national and regional payors. Own Payor Channel Activation and Growth: Be the accountable owner for growth through activation of our Payor Partner member base Connect SonderMind’s Story to Payor’s Needs: Leverage your deep Payor experience to translate SonderMind’s AI‑powered solutions into compelling ROI and clinical‑utility stories for Payor Medical Directors and Actuaries. Influence Product Roadmap: Serve as the "Voice of the Payor" internally, driving cross‑functional alignment with Product, Clinical, and Engineering to ensure our digital solutions solve real‑world payor pain points (e.g., network adequacy, HEDIS measures, total cost of care). Drive Market Visibility: Represent SonderMind as a thought leader at national conferences (BHT, HLTH, AHIP), positioning the company as the premier partner for innovative behavioral health. Playbook Development and Team Growth: Manage the payor enablement budget and develop the internal "playbook" for scaling enterprise accounts from implementation to long‑term expansion while modeling what good looks like for your team Data‑Driven Decision Making: Evaluate and implement AI‑driven tools to automate routine payor reporting and augment the team’s ability to generate data‑driven clinical insights. What does success look like? The Trusted Advisor: You will become a primary strategic partner to C‑suite stakeholders at some of our largest accounts, shifting the relationship from contract compliance to genuine clinical partnership Strategic Leverage : You will leverage improved relationships into 1‑2 opportunities to support Payor Partners more deeply. High Performing Team: Your team meets and exceeds member activation targets, empowered by the mentorship and strategic clarity you provide. Organizational Influence: Payor feedback you surface internally has directly shaped product and clinical direction with measurable proof points in contract wins, renewals, or expanded partnership teams tied to those enhancements. Who You Are You have deep experience and relationships with Payors, including at least 7 years in high‑level B2B health tech partnerships or value‑based strategy. Clinical Experience a bonus. Proven track record of navigating the challenging Payor landscapes, complex organizations, and/or National Payors to close seven‑figure, multi‑stakeholder deals. Deep understanding and exposure of the payor landscape and dynamics Experienced in managing and scaling high‑performing teams, with a focus on professional development and operational excellence. Successfully lead teams through major strategic pivots or organizational change. Confident communicator who can translate clinical value into business impact and business priorities into clinical strategy Comfortable stepping into an environment where processes and workflows are still being defined. Able to build the infrastructure and close deals at the same time Preferred Qualifications: Past experience on the Provider or Payor side of Mental Health, or both. A deep, existing "Rolodex" of regional and national payor executives. Experience in high‑growth startups or "innovator" organizations Our Benefits The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,00 - $180,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, and past performance.
