Job Description Public Affairs Intern - Paid Manhattan NY Public Affairs Office Location: New York, NY, United States (No Local) To meet the needs of the Church, we seek to build teams that represent the diverse perspectives, broad life experiences, and backgrounds of our global Church membership. The New York Office of Public and International Affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking two paid interns to work starting in September 2026. The internship will be 40 hours per week for no longer than three months. The office is a satellite of the Church Communication Department and focuses on developing positive relationships with key individuals who can help or hinder the Church’s mission. This often involves reaching out to the diplomatic corps, local, state, and national leaders who live or work in the Greater New York area, and leaders of other faiths. We seek to establish a positive image for the Church, clarify misunderstandings, and build bridges of friendship and understanding. Responsibilities Assist with the planning, execution, and follow‑up of events and diplomatic visits, including creating invitations, posters, and other public affairs products. Conduct research and gather information. Manage office CRM (Customer Relationship Management) lists and mass mailings. Compose written communication and correspondence. Provide general office and administrative support. Run errands and perform additional tasks necessary to support the effective functioning of the office. Be available for occasional work outside normal business hours, with dates known in advance. Qualifications Strong research, writing, and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in event management. Skills in design and creation of public affairs materials. Problem‑solving skills and creativity. Professional demeanor and presentation. Preference will be given to students in international studies, political science, or communications programs at an accredited university; students in other programs are also encouraged to apply. Interns must be enrolled in an accredited university or be within one year of graduating when starting the internship, and meet all internship credit criteria of the sponsoring university if applicable. Additional Information Each intern is responsible for finding and paying for their own housing, travel to New York, and personal expenses. All candidates must be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints in good standing to be considered for the internship.
