Watts is a leading brand with a quality reputation — and we have a dynamic future ahead.​Scope of PositionThis position leads Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Facilities and Maintenance to continually improve and develop processes, people and equipment to drive operational excellence.This position is responsible for supervision of engineers, technicians, facilities, and maintenance.This position reports to Director of Operations. This role is onsite and is based in Export, PA.Primary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and support a team of engineers and technicians that are involved in developing optimal processes for production including plant layout, machine selection, tooling, and standard workOversees the development and implementation of all manufacturing processes to improve product cost, efficiency, and functionality of the factory.Ensures alignment between the manufacturing engineering team and other manufacturing departments to promote a cohesive relationshipResponsible for the development and project management of new capital equipment to aid in improving manufacturing processesProvide direction on projects to ensure that safety is a priority and an integral part of the design and implementation of all and any projectsInfluence and drive cross-functional problem solving to ensure the attainment of continuous improvement objectivesDevelops and evaluates engineering changes and specification requirementsDirects in-house design of product tools, jigs, cells, and fixtures to ensure efficient, optimized production methodsSupports new product development (stage gate process) by ensuring proper and effective support of new product launchesOversees the on-time creation of all manufacturing documentation (BOMs, routings, work instructions, SOPs) and ensures that production rates and machine cycle times are available/accurate/consistent for new products per the project planWorks directly with operations and continuous improvement to optimize plant layout, material product flow, and plant efficienciesSupport any and all control debugging, upgrades, and automation efforts as needed in the factoryAssume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Company management.Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)Travel Requirements: less than 10% both domestically and internationallyRequired QualificationsBachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, EMET, Industrial); MBA preferredTen+ years’ experience with manufacturing processes, new product introduction, machinery, and documentation. Experience in metal forming tubing industry and high-volume manufacturing is highly desirable.Comprehensive experience applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to continuous improvement and new product introduction efforts is required.Comprehensive knowledge of general mechanical engineering and mechanical design principles and practices.Extensive project management experience in product development and manufacturing environments.Proven leadership and management of diverse work teams.Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office or equivalent softwareUnderstanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Project software is a plus.Experience in CAD and 3D software is a plusGeneral Applicable Company CompetenciesCommitment to Watts’ values of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation, and transparency.Punctuality and dependability.Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities and stressful conditions.Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and standards of process as implemented by Watts.Maintain productive and collaborative relationships with other Watts employees.Adherence to Watts’ seven cultural beliefs: Growth Mindset, Customer-Focused Innovation, Constant Communication, Clear Goals, Collaborate Globally, Be Inclusive, and Take Action.Working Conditions:While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Export, PA location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.Physical Requirements:Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
