Insurance Agent Trainee

Role Life Insurance Sales Agent Location Tyler, Texas Employment Type & Work Arrangement Full‑time with benefits. Field role. Career and Opportunity Kemper is a diversified insurance holding company with over 100 years of experience serving modest‑income families. We focus on frequent personal home visits with new and existing customers to collect premiums, conduct sales of new policies, and address other service needs. New unlicensed agents begin with a paid training period and receive tools and guidance to study for and pass the licensing exams. Once licensed, agents are assigned an existing book of business and earn a percentage of collected premiums plus commissions on all new sales. Prospect for new sales opportunities. Maintain strong customer relationships by collecting premiums on a pre‑arranged schedule. Respond promptly to service requests such as beneficiary changes, claims, and loans. Record keeping, accounting for money collected, and processing policy paperwork. Agent Expectations Grow the assigned territory through new sales. Build strong working relationships with customers. Devote the necessary time to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Pursue continuous professional development in insurance products and sales effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications Customer service experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license with required auto insurance coverage. Dependable vehicle for daily travel. Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening. Authorization to work in the United States. Preparation Licensing: Free access to study tools and professional guidance for licensing exams. Training: Onboarding development program including self‑study, classroom instruction, and field mentoring by the Sales Manager.
