Dental Hygienist - Registered

The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) provides exceptional preventive and periodontal care in a busy restorative and surgical practice. Responsibilities include performing prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, periodontal maintenance, and comprehensive assessments. The RDH applies preventive treatments, conducts oral cancer screenings, administers local anesthesia and nitrous oxide (where permitted), and maintains accurate documentation using practice-management software. They educate patients on oral health, support treatment plans, and foster patient trust and retention. Key Duties Perform clinical hygiene procedures including cleanings and periodontal therapies Conduct assessments, take radiographs, intraoral photographs, and digital scans Document medical/dental histories and maintain compliance with protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene and periodontal health Ensure sterilization, infection control, and supply management Qualifications & Skills Active Florida Dental Hygienist license, radiography certification, and BLS/CPR Strong knowledge of periodontal therapy and preventive care Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging Excellent communication and patient rapport skills Preferred Attributes Certification to administer local anesthesia/nitrous oxide Experience with periodontal and implant maintenance Familiarity with Dentrix and intraoral scanners Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus Physical & Work Environment Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and perform detailed handwork Routine exposure to clinical environment with PPE Lift up to 25 pounds as needed Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly/daily pay, medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k), continuing education support, and dental care discounts. #J-18808-Ljbffr Vetted Solutions
