Nurse Practioner

Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) leads advanced patient care at the graduate level, applying specialized expertise in diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with complex health needs. The NP collaborates with attending physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver family-centered care, develop practice standards, and conduct research to improve care quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply advanced knowledge in anatomy, neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, gerontology, and medical terminology to provide comprehensive patient care. Conduct thorough patient assessments, perform physical examinations, collect specimens, prepare patients for tests or treatment, interpret laboratory results, and diagnose medical conditions. Order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and treatments, and perform minor surgical procedures as indicated. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care, ensuring continuous quality improvement. Maintain accurate patient coding, medical reports, and inventory of medical supplies. Serve as a resource and mentor during clinical shifts, facilitating smooth patient processing, treatment, and discharge, including triage. Provide leadership and training to new staff and physician assistant students. Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (required). Licensed NP upon hire. Proficiency with computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. HIPAA compliant at all times. ATLS – Advanced Trauma Life Support certification upon hire. BCLS – Basic Life Support certification upon hire. Physical Demands Standing, walking, and sitting for prolonged periods. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling actions.
