Job Description

Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for decontaminating, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments and supplies to ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control standards.

Responsibilities:

• Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols.
• Inspects instruments for functionality, damage, and cleanliness, reporting defects as needed.
• Maintains accurate records of sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Tags, labels, and organizes sterile supplies for surgical procedures.
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and hospital regulatory guidelines.
• Assists with inventory management and restocking of sterile supplies.

Qualifications:

• Holds a valid Sterile Processing Technician certification or equivalent credential.
• Possesses at least 2 years of experience in sterile processing or surgical tech environment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control procedures, and safety standards.
• Exhibits strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
• Maintains current CPR/BLS certification as required.
