In your day-to-day, you will:
Diagnose and manage a wide variety of medical and surgical ophthalmic disorders, providing advanced care for both referral and emergency patients.
Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures utilizing advanced diagnostic and surgical resources within a specialty hospital environment.
Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Emergency & Critical Care, and other specialty services to develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex patients.
Provide ophthalmic consultations for hospitalized specialty and emergency patients, supporting high-quality multidisciplinary patient care.
Utilize advanced hospital resources including CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, and specialty diagnostic services to support patient evaluation and treatment planning.
Build trusted relationships with referring veterinarians through consultation, communication, and collaborative case management.
Guide pet owners through diagnoses, treatment recommendations, surgical options, and long-term management plans with empathy, transparency, and confidence.
Mentor technicians, interns, students, and support staff while contributing to a culture of learning, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
Participate in continuing education, specialty rounds, and collaborative discussions that support professional growth and hospital-wide learning.
Help grow and strengthen the Ophthalmology service while contributing to the positive, collaborative culture that defines Red Bank Veterinary Hospital - Hillsborough.
What You Bring
DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
Board Certification in Veterinary Ophthalmology (DACVO) or Residency Trained in Veterinary Ophthalmology.
Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
