This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by overseeing a critical program that provides support to pregnant and parenting mothers in California through positive parenting, improving maternal and child health, and promoting child development and school readiness.
The incumbent works under the general direction of the Division Director of the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Division. The Manager II is responsible for the oversight of four sections within the Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) Branch. Those sections include the California Home Visiting Program (CHVP) Development and Implementation Section, the CHVP Program Quality and Equity Section, the Adolescent Health Section, and the Community Resilience and Support Section. The Manager II will oversee the area of personnel, budgets, management analysis, and program implementation and planning. The Manager II will provide leadership to staff working with Local Health Jurisdictions implementing and monitoring the statewide program including the oversight of annual site visits, site status reports, federal performance reports, federal grant writing, Scopes of Work, and policies and procedures. Up to 10% of travel required in and out of State.
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH's Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee's designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

- Experience with change management to ensure smooth implementation of new processes, technologies, and organizational structures.
