Build and lead a practice within an existing, decades old investment advisory business.

Blue Ridge Wealth Planners is a rapidly growing wealth planning firm seeking an experienced tax professional to help build and lead our new Estate, Medicare, and Tax Team (EMT Team).

This role combines hands-on tax preparation and advice with the ability to help shape and grow a new department within an established firm. You'll develop the EMT Team's processes, guide staffing decisions, and work alongside our Wealth Planners to bring clients' estate, medicare, and tax decisions into the broader picture of their financial lives. We anticipate a team of one or two people in the first year with future growth driven by client demand.

 

Position Overview

• A practice you can shape. Your input will be the most critical for advising on tax software, workflows, timeline, and service strategies.
• An established client base. Blue Ridge Wealth currently advises over a thousand families in East Tennessee, with a growing client base in Raleigh as well.
• Year long client relationships. Client services will be structured around the tax year, with estate and medicare advising during the slower tax season.
• Training in complementary services . You will bring the tax expertise. We will provide training in estate planning and medicare support.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, review, and file individual income tax returns
• Identify tax planning opportunities and collaborate with Wealth Planners
• Help clients review or obtain estate planning documents through wealth.com
• Guide clients through medicare supplement options
• Establish processes for gathering client information and building logical and efficient workflowsand team structure
• Stay current on relevant tax law changes

What You'll Bring

• Experience preparing individual income tax returns
• CPA certification preferred, EA status will be considered
• Leadership and management skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to communicate clearly and build trust with clients and colleagues
• Commitment to efficiency, proactivity, integrity, and curiosity

While experience with Estate returns or Medicare-related filings is a plus, it is not required. We will provide training to help you succeed in those areas.
