Electrical Systems Test & Commissioning Technician (Can‑Making Machinery)

Own the Test Bench. Deliver the Buy‑Off.

Help prove out advanced Stolle can-making machinery by validating electrical systems from assembly to customer acceptance. Youll collaborate with Electrical Engineers and System Assemblers, solve on-site design challenges, and ensure every control, drive, and HMI performs flawlessly under simulated plant conditions.

Your impact
  • Assemble and wire electrical systems and prototypes with hand tools and measurement devices.
  • Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments and test rigs.
  • Program, tune, and fault-find on Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and Siemens control platforms (TIA Portal v13, SCOUT v4.4).
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate parts, assemblies, and complete systems in simulated operation.
  • Lead startup troubleshooting and support customer buy-offs.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Electrical Engineers and System Assemblers to define and resolve developmental problems.
  • Review existing electrical engineering criteria and keep documentation current; coordinate modifications to contract specifications and plans.
  • Build or test electrical components used in electric-drive vehicles and prototypes.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree plus 335 years of relevant, hands-on experience; or 10+ years of hands-on industry experience.
  • Working mastery of applied engineering science/technology: applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to design/production.
  • Competence in math, communication (reading, writing, speaking, listening), critical thinking, decision making, and complex problem solving.

  • Microsoft Outlook 2010
  • Rockwell RSLogix 5000 v1720 and Studio 5000
  • FactoryTalk View ME v6.07.0
  • RSLinx, DriveExecutive
  • Siemens TIA Portal v13, SCOUT v4.4
  • Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs (with/without safety), servos, VFDs, and HMI panels
Work style & physical requirements
  • 4055 hours per week; may involve overtime, on-call, evenings, and/or weekends.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended durations.
  • Travel up to 25%.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
