Crisis Clinical Manager

Location: Manhattan, KS

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $85,000 per year

Schedule: 40+ hours per week with regular on-call responsibilities

A community behavioral health organization is seeking a Crisis Clinical Manager to lead crisis and transitional services across a 10-county service area in Kansas.

This is a clinical leadership and staff management position that combines approximately 65% clinical responsibilities and 35% administrative/management responsibilities.

The Crisis Clinical Manager will supervise approximately 9 staff members, provide clinical support, oversee day-to-day team operations, and help ensure individuals experiencing behavioral health crises receive timely and appropriate care.

The ideal candidate is a Kansas-licensed behavioral health professional with at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced crisis environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise and provide day-to-day leadership to approximately 9 staff members.

•Monitor team performance, productivity, documentation, and quality of services.

•Oversee mobile crisis, outpatient crisis, and transitional services.

•Provide clinical guidance, support, and consultation to staff.

•Assist with crisis assessments and interventions as needed.

•Maintain a small clinical caseload when appropriate.

•Support crisis stabilization services in a 24/7 environment.

•Participate in regular on-call responsibilities and provide clinical support after hours when needed.

•Participate in mobile crisis response on an as-needed or on-call basis.

•Support crisis triage, suicide risk screening, de-escalation, safety planning, and follow-up.

•Coordinate care with hospitals, emergency departments, psychiatric facilities, community providers, and other agencies.

•Help clients access appropriate behavioral health, psychiatric, substance use, housing, and community services.

•Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners.

•Recruit, train, coach, and support staff.

•Address performance and clinical concerns and promote a positive team environment.

•Review client incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up.

•Ensure clinical documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

•Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, and treatment team discussions.

•Collect and report program data and assist with grant-related reporting requirements.

•Support evidence-based programs and outcome measurement requirements.

•Work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external community partners.

•Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

•Current, active Kansas professional license in a relevant clinical or behavioral health field.

•At least 1 year of experience supervising or managing staff.

•Experience in behavioral health, mental health, crisis services, or a related clinical setting.

•Ability to work 40 or more hours per week.

•Willingness to participate in a regular on-call rotation/responsibility.

•Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.

•Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

•Ability to work with a variety of personalities and handle challenging situations professionally.

•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

•Experience coordinating care across hospitals, emergency departments, law enforcement, corrections, or community agencies

Clinical Responsibilities

This position is approximately:

65% Clinical | 35% Administrative/Management

The manager may maintain a small clinical caseload and/or assist with crisis assessments and interventions while also providing leadership and oversight to the team.

The caseload will vary based on program and staffing needs.

On-Call & Schedule

This is a full-time, salaried position requiring 40+ hours per week.

Because crisis stabilization services operate 24/7, the Crisis Clinical Manager will have a regular on-call responsibility and may occasionally be asked to assist with crisis services or unit coverage outside normal working hours.

Mobile crisis response may also be required on an as-needed or on-call basis throughout the service area.

The organization provides 8 paid holidays.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

Compensation

$85,000 per year
