Our work depends on Cable Technicians joining our team to ensure USCENTCOM leaders have the connections they need to enable success. Responsibilities Troubleshooting issues with Link Runner AT2000 cable testers. Installing cabling infrastructure under floors or in ceilings. Ensuring cables are properly labeled and identified. Completing work orders using Remedy online system. Patch network cables in Telecommunications Rooms on multiple levels of classifications and networks. Qualifications Proven work experience as a Cable Technician or similar role. 5+ years experience installing, terminating, patching & splicing fiber optic cables and copper (CAT5/6) Ethernet cables. Ability to terminate fiber optic cables of various types (single‑mode vs. multi‑mode OM3) and knowledge of fiber optic color code. Knowledge of fiber optic connectors LC, SC, MTRJ, ST, etc. Ability to use an RJ45 crimper & punch‑down tool for terminating copper with T568B color code. Capable of lifting up to 60 pounds. Able to work under floors and on ladders on a daily basis. Preferred BICSI certifications. Willingness to travel CONUS & OCCONUS up to 10% each year. Valid passport with expiration greater than 6 months. Current/active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI status. U.S. citizenship required. Location & Travel MacDill AFB, FL. Travel required: less than 10%. Employment Details Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Telecommuting options: onsite. Work location: USA FL MacDill AFB. Compensation Hourly rate likely between $71,400.00 and $96,600.00. Salary will be based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
