Job details: Project Accountant - Construction This Jobot Job is hosted by: Scott Dennis Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year A bit about us: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position within our construction company, offering the successful candidate an opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial operations. The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our construction projects, from the initial budgeting stage to the final reconciliation and closeout. Track and report on subcontractor costs, labor costs, vendor bills, and subcontractor bills to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Utilize QuickBooks to manage project financials, including invoicing, payments, and expense tracking. Perform regular reconciliations of project accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies. Prepare and present regular financial reports to project managers and senior management, providing insights into project performance and financial status. Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets, monitor project spending, and identify potential cost overruns. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including GAAP. Assist with the financial closeout of completed projects, ensuring all costs are accurately captured and reported. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide meaningful insights. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
