As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will coordinate material planning, purchasing, inventory control, production scheduling, and logistics to support manufacturing operations and timely customer deliveries. This is a direct-hire opportunity.Benefits PackageBase salary: $70,000–$85,000 annually, based on experienceTarget annual bonus: 5%–10%, based on company and individual performanceHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurance401(k)Accidental loss coverageShort-term disability insuranceLong-term disability insurancePaid holidaysPaid time off (PTO)Flexible spending account (FSA)Health savings account (HSA)Opportunity for advancementShift InformationFull-time, on-site position in Spartanburg, SCRequired Education and Experience2–4 years of relevant experience in purchasing, material planning, inventory control, or manufacturing supply chain operationsPreferred Education and ExperienceAssociate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field; equivalent practical experience consideredExperience in medical devices, technical products, or another quality-focused manufacturing environmentGeneral RequirementsWorking knowledge of purchase orders, supplier lead times, inventory transactions, and material planningProficiency with Microsoft ExcelExperience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), or inventory management systemsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage changing priorities and follow through on commitmentsClear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teamsEssential FunctionsTranslate customer orders, forecasts, and production schedules into material requirements and purchasing priorities.Maintain supplier lead times, reorder points, and safety stock levels to balance material availability and inventory investment.Identify material shortages, evaluate their impact on production, and coordinate recovery plans with suppliers and production leadership.Obtain and compare supplier quotes, pricing, lead times, and delivery terms.Prepare purchase orders within established approval limits.Track supplier order acknowledgments and delivery commitments, expedite late orders, and communicate supply risks promptly.Resolve purchasing, receiving, and invoice discrepancies with suppliers and Finance.Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, components, work in process (WIP), and finished goods.Coordinate inventory cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and support approved inventory adjustments.Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and recommend actions to improve inventory utilization.Arrange inbound and outbound shipments, compare freight options, prepare shipping documentation, and track deliveries.Coordinate material and product transfers between facilities, outsourcing partners, and customer sites.Coordinate material availability with production priorities and communicate supply constraints and delivery commitments.Track materials sent to outsourcing partners, expected completion dates, and returned products.Collaborate with Production and Quality to resolve material discrepancies and support the timely release of outsourced work.Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and planning data in company systems, including ERP or MRP tools, as applicable.Report material shortages, supplier delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and freight costs.Improve purchasing, material planning, inventory control, and shipping processes to support business growth.Collaborate with Production, Quality, Sales, and Finance to strengthen supply chain coordination and operational efficiency.Working ConditionsWork on-site in a manufacturing environment in Spartanburg, SC.Perform computer-based work with regular activity in manufacturing and warehouse areas.Physical DemandsStand and walk regularly throughout manufacturing and warehouse areas.Handle materials as part of daily responsibilities.Perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
