Job Summary

Holy Cross Academy is seeking a faith-filled, organized, and nurturing Preschool Director to lead and oversee our early childhood program. The Preschool Director is responsible for the academic, operational, and spiritual leadership of the preschool, ensuring a safe, developmentally appropriate, and Christ-centered environment that supports the growth of young children and fosters strong partnerships with families.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for the preschool program, staff, and daily operations.
• Ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional practices aligned with diocesan, state, and school standards.
• Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into curriculum, routines, and classroom culture.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, evaluate, and support preschool teachers and staff.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment for young children.
• Oversee student assessment, progress monitoring, and program evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, licensing regulations, and accreditation requirements.
• Develop and manage preschool schedules, enrollment procedures, and records.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with families, staff, and administration.
• Collaborate with school leadership to align the preschool program with the mission and goals of Holy Cross Academy.
• Coordinate professional development opportunities for preschool staff.
• Participate in school liturgies, meetings, events, and community activities.
• Promote the preschool program within the school and broader community.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. Valid early childhood education certification/license required (or ability to obtain per diocesan and state requirements). Minimum of 3–5 years of preschool or early childhood teaching experience required. Prior leadership or administrative experience preferred. Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum design, and early childhood best practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with staff and families. Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and model Catholic teachings and traditions.
