Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Adult/Peds/NICU experience required; must have NICU experience.

Required Credentials: STABLE and NRP only required for NICU or travelers handling babies.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. The facility may make one off exceptions if previously employed at the facility, but exceptions must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System. Can do block scheduling.

Unit Details: Uses Epic. Covers inpatient and ER. Patient population ranges from NICU to geriatrics, including ICU, stepdown, Med-Surg, and a small pediatrics unit; no PICU. Level III NICU with vents once in a while. Up to 30 treatments per shift depending on season; assignments are divided by floor rather than points, so workloads can be heavier at times. Duties include drawing and analyzing ABGs, breathing treatments, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilators, assisting with bedside bronchoscopy, assisting with intubation, and possible LMA placement. Does not perform EKGs. Equipment includes Drager vents, Servo-NICU, Hamilton transport vent, Vapotherm, and Philips V60 and V30. There is always a team lead or charge therapist on shift; travelers may serve as charge depending on experience and willingness. Traveler will not be the only RT in-house.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holidays as needed. Call or standby: low census per contract.

Floating Requirements: First to float. Floating ICU, floors, NICU, ER.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway. Blood Pressure, Lab work and Emotional Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)
