Universal Banker - FloaterThe purpose of this position is to provide prompt, efficient and friendly service to customers involving new account information, consumer lending and teller transactions, as needed. This is a cross-trained position and requires the ability to multi-task and also serve as the back up to the manager, when necessary.This position will have extensive contact with customers and the public in a variety of settings. Position is responsible for promoting services of the bank, which requires a cheerful disposition, and the ability to employ tact and diplomacy in providing quick and efficient responses to all customer inquiries. Position also requires leadership qualities since it is the back up to the manager, in some cases.Performance objectives include achieving growth in deposits and loans by the assigned percentage determined by the Branch Manager, satisfactory compliance and audit results, treating every customer with the highest level of professionalism and providing exceptional customer service, and completion of all required internal training programs.Essential functions include assisting with new account duties, explaining different types of accounts available to customers, obtaining proper identification from new customers, placing orders for checks and other items needed for new accounts, answering incoming telephone inquiries, assisting customers in accessing their safe deposit boxes, processing all documents and items pertaining to checking accounts, savings accounts, safe deposit boxes and certificates of deposit, selling, renewing and redeeming certificates of deposit, cross-selling products and services of the bank, providing customer assistance with balancing checkbooks, receiving and distributing branch mail, assisting with ATM balancing, performing account maintenance, maintaining petty cash, sending various mailings to customers and employees, closing accounts and taking applications, participating in credit extension functions with lending authority, performing loan processing tasks for all loan types as required, assisting with loan function, quoting loan rates and payment amounts, quoting payoffs for personal and car loans, assisting Branch Manager with supervision of branch employees, aiding in the development and implementation of teller training and cross training, and performing other duties as assigned in relation to the above mentioned.Other duties include receiving cash and/or checks for deposit to checking, savings accounts, taxes withheld payment for installment loans, Master Card/Visa, mortgage payments; opening and receiving payments for Christmas Club accounts; issuing money orders, and cashiers checks. Collecting late charges and fees where applicable. Processing night deposits. Cashing checks in accordance with bank policy. Paying MasterCard/Visa cash advances and savings withdrawals; cashing savings bonds. Receiving payment for collection items, safe deposit rentals and other miscellaneous items. Recognizing customer needs and suggesting appropriate services of the bank. Preparing printouts from terminal of customer account transactions. Preparing currency for vault and entering daily debit and credit transactions in vault register. Mutilating and strapping currency; separating and rolling coin, and distributing excess coin and currency to vault teller. Preparing teller summary sheets, certified check, currency transaction, and CTR reports. Auditing vault, putting stop payment on checks, and answering the phone. Performing other duties as assigned in relation to above mentioned duties and responsibilities.Competencies include ethics/integrity, adaptability, customer service, productivity, quality, cooperation, and supervisory responsibility.Work environment includes a professional office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical demands include talking or hearing, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.Position type/expected hours of work include some flexibility in hours based on location assignments, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Saturday hours are required for all retail staff, usually twice a month, but this schedule could be adjusted for coverage needs.Travel for this position is limited to travel for meetings/training or helping other locations with staffing needs.Required education and experience include a high school graduate or equivalent. Preferred education and experience include generally two-five years of banking or related experience. Additional eligibility qualifications include strong clerical skills, good communication skills and professional appearance, proficiency with a computer, adding machine, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment, and the ability to learn EzTeller, Premier and sales tracking systems.AAP/EEO Statement: Community Bank is an equal employment opportunity employer.
