Position Highlights
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Design tailored treatment plans that effectively target both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing demands.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions, focusing on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Engage in collaborative practices with medical professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to foster unified care strategies.
- Educate patients and families, empowering them to continue progress outside of the clinic.
- Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless care along the treatment continuum.
- Document care interventions in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines, maintaining precise records.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and networking with peers to stay abreast of the latest innovations in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Active state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based speech therapy techniques across age ranges, with deep knowledge of both developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills that facilitate constructive communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy approaches to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical acumen paired with decisive problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and prevailing standards of documentation.
