Black Lineage & Heritage Institute is the public-facing brand of **The American Freedmen Lineage & Heritage Institute, Inc.**, a newly formed nonprofit dedicated to preserving, documenting, researching, and educating the public about American Freedmen-descended lineage through genealogy, historical research, archives, family history, and public education.

We are building an institution—not simply a nonprofit. Our vision is to become a nationally respected organization that preserves historical records, empowers families to explore their ancestry, develops educational programming, and promotes historical literacy for generations to come.

## About the Opportunity

We're looking for a founding creative partner who can help establish the identity, voice, and digital presence of our organization.

This is far more than designing a website.

You will help shape how universities, foundations, donors, historians, educators, volunteers, and the public perceive our organization.

## Responsibilities

• Develop and refine our brand identity

• Build and continually improve our website

• Create compelling homepage and website copy

• Develop our brand voice and messaging

• Create digital fundraising materials

• Design brochures, presentations, and donor materials

• Build email marketing templates

• Design social media branding and templates

• Improve website user experience (UX)

• Develop visual storytelling that reflects our mission

• Create brand guidelines for future team members

• Help establish long-term public trust and credibility
