Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I trauma center academic Main OR, requiring NBSTSA certification and 2 years of experience.

Details

Level I trauma center Main OR with 21 suites covering all surgical specialties.

Common cases include Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, and GU/GYN.

Highly preferred experience in Neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and Robotics (Davinci Xi) cases.

3x12 hour day shifts, 6:30A-7:00P, with holiday rotation.

Up to 1 weekend shift per 4 week schedule period.

On-call requirement of up to 4 call shifts per 4 week schedule period.

Float within scope required to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister facilities.

EPIC charting system used.

Magnet designated department with a nursing team of 75% RNs and 25% CSTs.

Requirements

NBSTSA certification required (MUSC does not accept NCCT).

BLS certification required (AHA only).

Minimum of 2 years of experience required.

Level I trauma center experience required.

Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency.

EPIC charting experience preferred.

Driver's license required for consideration.

License required if applicable.

Additional Information

Work in a busy, dynamic, nurse-driven department utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology.

Scrubs provided by facility.

Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 staffed beds.

Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs.

First-time travelers will be considered.

Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.

All requested time off must be submitted in advance for facility approval.

Local candidates accepted and considered on a case-by-case basis.

Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local.

During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams.
