Project Closeout Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Closeout Coordinator in Houston, TX.

Overview:
The Project Closeout Coordinator supports the final stages of project execution, ensuring completed projects are properly documented, financially reconciled, and transitioned to operations or maintenance teams.

This role works closely with project managers, field teams, engineers, contractors, and customer stakeholders to collect and validate closeout documentation, resolve outstanding items, maintain compliance records, and support the timely completion of project closeout activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable coordinating across multiple teams and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and support project closeout activities from project completion through final handoff
* Gather, organize, review, and track required project closeout documentation
* Work with project managers, field teams, engineers, contractors, vendors, and customer representatives to resolve outstanding closeout items
* Verify that required project documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with contractual and compliance requirements
* Maintain project records, compliance documentation, and financial closeout information
* Assist with the reconciliation of project financials and outstanding costs prior to final closeout
* Track open items, documentation gaps, and outstanding deliverables through completion
* Coordinate with internal audit, project management, and other stakeholders to ensure closeout requirements are satisfied
* Support the transition of completed projects to operations and/or maintenance teams
* Identify and apply best practices that improve consistency, efficiency, and timeliness throughout the project closeout process
* Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding closeout status, outstanding items, and next steps

REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred
* Experience supporting project coordination, project administration, project controls, construction, engineering, or project closeout activities preferred
* Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage documentation and priorities across multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to collaborate effectively with field personnel, engineers, project managers, contractors, vendors, and customer stakeholders
* Comfortable working with project documentation, financial records, compliance requirements, and administrative processes
* Ability to identify outstanding items and follow them through to resolution

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
