Senior Instrument Technician

Amgen seeks a Senior Instrument Technician for its new manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The role involves providing technical expertise during plant construction and commissioning, then supporting ongoing instrumentation maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting for process control and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Support plant start-up, commissioning, and equipment qualification during construction phase in 2027
• Develop and implement metrology program documentation including SOPs, change controls, and hazard assessments
• Perform calibration, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of instruments on process and building systems
• Complete maintenance work orders with quality, safety, and compliance documentation according to GMP standards
• Participate in on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays for facility support

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED with 2+ years instrumentation experience, or Associate's degree with 6+ months experience
• Preferred: 6+ years instrumentation experience or Associate's degree with 4+ years experience
• Biotech manufacturing experience with sanitary processing equipment and systems
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuitry up to 480V
• Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with cGMP regulations and computerized maintenance management systems
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and work independently with effective communication skills
