NC DHHS AWS/Java/ETL Developer

Job Summary (List Format):
- Serve as an AWS/Java/ETL Developer focused on data modernization using cloud solutions on AWS.
- Collaborate closely with data modernization teams to design, implement, and manage AWS cloud solutions that meet technical and business needs.
- Modernize legacy applications, including refactoring and migrating in-house legacy systems to AWS cloud environments.
- Build and manage enterprise-level Data Lakes utilizing AWS services and components.
- Develop software applications using Java, J2EE, Spring framework, and Hibernate technologies.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using cloud-based ETL tools.
- Work with transactional or RDBMS databases, including writing complex SQL queries, debugging, performance tuning, and understanding database relationships.
- Analyze data models and business requirements to ensure effective data solutions.
- Validate data integrity and accuracy by querying databases and executing test cases.
- Perform backend testing and ensure comprehensive test coverage in collaboration with developers and business analysts.
- Utilize DevOps practices and automation tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Implement and maintain application architecture using a variety of AWS services (e.g., VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, Athena).
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, adherence to security best practices, and maintaining clean, efficient code.
- Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability.
- Work in Agile/Scrum framework environments.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, product managers, and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
- Preferred: Experience with data analytics and BI tools such as PowerBI or AWS QuickSight, AWS certification, and prior state government project experience.
